The fly
desists,

stands
and looks
out the window,

a housefly.

Now to imagine
the myriad fish swimming
through the metalwork—

God or no God—

home.

His poems have appeared in journals including The New Republic, Ploughshares, Poetry, The Threepenny Review, and The Yale Review. He lives in Salt Lake City and teaches at the University of Utah.
